Your First Biome
The Shallows is every run's starting point. Iron Ore, Carbon, Planks, and basic sarcophagi with essential Blueprints populate flooded ruins close to the Diving Deck. Killer Algae block paths — craft a Diving Knife immediately after finding its Blueprint.
The first Eldritch Idol hides in a ruined building to the east. Listen for heartbeat pulses. Rain-Touched enemies appear after initial dives — avoid or craft a Nailgun before engaging.
The Shallows Underwater Altar
The first underwater altar sits inside a broken building in the eastern Shallows. Use it to bless the biome when ready — typically after full Map coverage and Blueprint collection. Sacrifice an expendable recruit, not your primary diver.
