Final Flood Day Guide

Prepare for the final Flood day in DIVE or DIE. Offering Eldritch Idols, last-dive gear checklist, and endgame strategy.

When the Countdown Reaches Zero

If your Flood Countdown hits zero before you offer the Idols, the Rainmaker's Flood ends your run. The final day is not a regular dive — it is a one-way descent to the deepest chamber of the Abyssal Pool where the Rainmaker waits. All eight Eldritch Idols must be in your possession.

Preparation begins five to ten days before the deadline. Confirm Idol count, max out your best diver's stats at the Town Hall, craft Eldritch-tier equipment, and clear the Infirmary so your primary diver starts at full Health and Sanity.

Pre-Final Dive Checklist

Verify eight Idols in inventory. Equip maximum oxygen capacity, strongest weapons, full light sources, and cutting tools. Assign your most experienced diver — ideally one with Unnatural Regeneration, high Apnea, and combat traits.

Stock the Workshop with backup consumables. Burn final Tributes for Nutrition and Morale buffers. Cancel nonessential Expeditions. Do not waste the last day on resource farming unless you are one Idol short.

The Descent and Offering

The final dive path follows the deepest unlocked biome route. Enemies are at maximum density — avoid unnecessary combat. Use Maps to take the shortest known path. Boost judiciously; oxygen management determines success more than speed.

At the Rainmaker's chamber, interact with the offering altar and present all eight Eldritch Idols. Completing the ritual triggers the ending sequence and saves humanity from the Black Rain.

If You Are Not Ready

With five or fewer days remaining and fewer than eight Idols, prioritize Worship offerings and underwater altar sacrifices over resource dives. Each worship cycle adds one day. Target the nearest uncollected Idol with your highest-tier Diving Deck warp point.

Use our Flood Day Planner tool to calculate whether your remaining days support another biome blessing or if direct Idol rushing is the only viable path.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I miss the final Flood day?
The Rainmaker floods the world and your run ends in failure. You must restart the campaign.
Can I extend the countdown on the last day?
No. Worship and altar sacrifices must happen before the final day. Plan extensions during days 25–38.
Do I need all survivors alive for the ending?
No. Only the diver and the eight Idols matter for the final offering. Survivor deaths during the run do not block the ending.
What difficulty changes the countdown?
Normal difficulty provides 40 days. Hard mode reduces this to 30 days. Check your difficulty selection on the New Game screen.
