DIVE or DIE Resources Guide

All DIVE or DIE resources, materials, and items explained — from Iron Ore to Blessed Rain Rot.

Resource Categories

DIVE or DIE resources split into surface camp materials (Nutrition, Morale), crafting components (Iron Ore, Aluminum, Planks, Carbon), monster drops (Algae Tissue, Rain Rot), and late-game Blessed variants. Understanding which category a material belongs to determines when and where you farm it.

Early dives in The Shallows provide Iron Ore, Carbon, Planks, and basic Blueprints. Mid-game biomes introduce Aluminum, Gold, and specialized monster drops. Endgame crafting requires Blessed materials from blessed biomes or Gazing Moon events.

Camp Resources — Nutrition and Morale

Nutrition comes from Food Cans and Crates found underwater or generated by the Fishing Hut. Morale comes from Small Mementos, Heirlooms, and treasures. Surplus grants bonus maximum Health and Sanity; deficits cause Starving (reduced Health cap) or Demoralized (reduced Sanity cap) conditions.

Monitor upkeep via the Lighthouse Camp Status or by hovering resource icons on the settlement HUD. The Camp Report each morning shows exact consumption versus production.

Crafting Materials Progression

Basic: Iron Ore, Planks, Carbon — The Shallows. Advanced: Aluminum, Algae Tissue — mid-depth biomes. Rare: Gold, Rain Rot — deep biomes and specific monsters. Blessed: Blessed Iron Ore, Blessed Rain Rot — blessed biomes only.

Never hoard ordinary materials past upgrade thresholds. The Flood Countdown punishes inventory clutter that does not convert into Diving Deck or Workshop tiers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the most important resource early?
Blueprints and Maps. Iron Ore and Planks matter for construction, but Blueprints unlock progression.
How do I get Mementos?
Salvage Mementos from underwater ruins and treasure nodes. They restore Morale when brought to the surface.
