Recruitment Guide

DIVE or DIE survivor recruitment strategy — when to hire, trait evaluation, and roster size management.

Daily Recruits at the Lighthouse

At least one recruit arrives daily. Inspect stats, traits, negative conditions, and maintenance costs before hiring. Recruits with Passion traits for understaffed buildings are high priority. Recruits with negative traits are acceptable only if Blessed Host is active or the recruit is intended for sacrifice.

When to Recruit vs Reject

Recruit when: you need to man a new building, need a backup diver, have an Expedition slot, want a sacrificial candidate, or find unique traits like Unnatural Regeneration. Reject when: roster is full, upkeep exceeds production, or the recruit adds no strategic value.

Overpopulation is the most common early mistake. Eight well-assigned survivors outperform sixteen idle ones draining Nutrition.
