Hotfix #1.5 — Equipment & Soft-Lock Fix
DIVE or DIE Hotfix #1.5 — equipment stat scaling now applies every Workshop upgrade cumulatively, plus soft-lock resolution on reload.
Why This Hotfix Matters
Drop Rate Studio shipped Hotfix #1.5 on July 24, 2026 — one day after Patch #1. Community reports showed Workshop upgrades were not stacking on diver equipment stats, and some Chiefs remained soft-locked even after the prior patch. This hotfix targets both issues without changing broader balance.
If you invested in multiple Workshop tiers and your diver still showed base-tier stats, update and verify before your next deep dive.
Equipment Stat Scaling Fix
A bug caused only the first Workshop upgrade to apply to equipment stats — later tiers upgraded the building but did not add their bonuses to your diver's gear. Hotfix #1.5 makes stat scaling cumulative: every Workshop upgrade now contributes its full bonus to equipped items.
Check your diver loadout after updating. Oxygen, light radius, and other Workshop-driven stats should reflect your current building tier, not just tier one. Pair this check with our Equipment and Best Upgrades guides if you are re-planning mid-campaign upgrades.
Soft-Lock Resolution
Hotfix #1.5 also addresses additional soft-lock edge cases that could persist after Patch #1. As with the prior patch, Drop Rate Studio asks stuck Chiefs to reload their save on the new build — many locked states clear once the updated client loads the campaign.
If Steam has not auto-updated, verify game files and confirm you are on the Hotfix #1.5 build before abandoning a run or reporting a duplicate bug.
What Chiefs Should Do
- Verify Workshop stats — open your diver equipment screen and confirm cumulative bonuses match your current Workshop tier.
- Reload stuck saves — if you soft-locked after a dive or camp event, load the save again on Hotfix #1.5 before starting a new campaign.
- Re-read Patch #1 notes if you missed the July 23 soft-lock fixes for Dark Arts IV, Infirmary dismissal, or daily upkeep double-triggers.
Continue reporting remaining issues via Steam discussions or the official Discord, and include your build number when posting.
