Quick Start for New Chiefs
Just launched on Steam? These three steps will keep your first run from ending on day five.
How to Play
Learn the dual camp-and-dive loop, equip your first diver, and understand the Flood Countdown before day three.
Step 2All Buildings
Construct all nine settlement buildings and assign survivors before upgrading tiers.
Step 3Eldritch Idols
Follow heartbeat audio cues to locate eight Eldritch Idols across the Abyssal Pool.
The Survival Loop
Every day in DIVE or DIE is a trade-off between camp upkeep and underwater progress.
Each morning begins with the Camp Report — a bill for Nutrition and Morale consumed overnight. Assign survivors to buildings, craft gear at the Workshop, and make Worship offerings at the Altar to buy extra days.
Then launch a dive from the Diving Deck. Prioritize Blueprints and Maps over bulk resources. Return before oxygen depletes. One dive equals one countdown day.
Use our Flood Day Planner to calculate remaining effective days and read the Flood Countdown extension guide for Worship strategies.
